Fellowship

FIPP recognises contribution to the profession

Fellowship is peer recognition. It acknowledges practitioners who have given back — through leadership of the discipline, mentoring, governance, research, or sustained contribution to how project management develops as a profession. It is not a competence threshold. It is a statement about the kind of professional you are.

Chartered status — coming 2028

ChIPP recognises proven professional competence

Chartered status is an independent assessment of competence. It is open to Members (MIPP) and Fellows (FIPP) alike — you do not need to be a Fellow to apply, and being a Fellow does not grant it automatically. ChIPP is earned through a rigorous panel assessment of your track record, your knowledge, and your ongoing commitment to professional standards.

ChIPP — indicative requirements

Open to MIPP and FIPP holders. MIPP or FIPP active for 3 or more years. 7 to 10 years of senior project delivery experience. Panel review by IPP assessors. Peer endorsement from two existing Fellows or Members.

IPP is working toward Royal Charter status. ChIPP will be formally conferred once that process is complete. Members joining now and progressing through the framework will be the first cohort eligible to apply.

Calibrate — your professional record, built from real work.

Calibrate is the competency and CPD platform built alongside IPP. It is where your professional development lives: not on a CV, not in a spreadsheet, but in a structured, evidence-based record that travels with you throughout your career.

You log CPD activity, build an evidence portfolio against the IPP Competency Framework, and have structured development conversations with your line manager or reviewer. When you change jobs, your record moves with you. When your employer asks for proof of development, you share a verified link.

A Calibrate profile is free infrastructure — not a product anyone pays for. It comes with every paid IPP membership because the profile only has value when something sits on top of it: a post-nominal, a learning pathway, or an employer management layer. For organisations who want to provision Calibrate across a team independently of individual memberships, it is available as seat licences with a free 30-day trial.
