How membership, applications, payments and the wider platforms work. Fourteen short sections, written to be read in minutes.
The Institute of Project Professionals is the professional body for project practitioners. Membership gives you professional standing, post-nominal designations at the assessed tiers, structured learning, and a CPD framework. Your record and your designation belong to you, not your employer.
IPP sits at the centre of four connected platforms, all reached with one account: this site for membership and your members area, Activate for qualification pathways and exams, Calibrate for your competency record and CPD, and Educate for subscription courses. Passing an IPP exam on Activate seeds your Calibrate profile, so nobody starts from a blank slate.
IPP and its platforms are developed and operated by Module Six Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
One account covers everything. You create it once and the same sign-in works on this site, Activate, Calibrate and Educate. Every Sign in button across the platforms takes you to the same central sign-in page at id.modulesix.io.
If a members page ever tells you sign-in could not complete, use the Try again link it shows. If the problem persists, sign out fully, close the tab, and sign in again from ipp.pro. Still stuck? Email hello@ipp.pro and include roughly what time it happened.
Forgotten password: use the reset link on the sign-in page. To change the email address on your account, contact hello@ipp.pro.
Student is free. Candidate is £29 a year and opens the full Award pathway. Associate (AIPP) is £49 a year, entered on an Award pass plus two years of experience. Member (MIPP) is £69 a year for established practitioners. Fellow (FIPP) is a £75 assessed application plus £129 a year at the senior level.
Verified students (NUS) and military personnel, including ex-military and reserves, pay half on Candidate and Associate membership and on the Award and Foundation exams, and get half off any Educate subscription. Verification happens in your members area.
Current pricing always lives on the membership page; if this page and that one ever disagree, the membership page wins.
Student membership costs nothing and needs no card. It includes the IPP community, your free Calibrate profile, the first module of any Activate pathway, and a student badge for LinkedIn. It is the floor of the ladder: whatever happens to a paid membership later, you never drop below Student.
Candidate is pay-and-join: there is no application to assess. You confirm the Code of Professional Conduct declaration, pay £29 (£14.50 verified student or military), and the full Award pathway opens immediately.
Because access starts the moment you pay, the membership fee is not refunded once access begins. You confirm this at checkout, and it mirrors what the terms say.
The assessed tiers take an application: a short statement of your qualifying experience, evidence where the tier requires it, and the declarations. You pay the membership fee when you submit, and payment does not guarantee approval.
If your application is unsuccessful, your membership fee is refunded in full. Fellow applications additionally carry a £75 application fee which pays for the assessment itself and is not refundable regardless of the outcome. Both policies are stated at the point of payment and in the terms.
Associate needs the IPP Award (APME) pass plus two years of project experience. Member is for established practitioners. Fellow is the senior grade: an evidence portfolio, endorsements and a professional discussion with IPP assessors.
Paid membership renews annually. You can cancel at any time and cancellation takes effect at the end of your membership year, so you keep what you paid for.
If a renewal fails or you choose not to renew, your benefits continue through a 30-day grace period while you decide. Renew inside the grace period and nothing is interrupted. If the grace period passes, your tier reverts to Student: you lose the designation and paid benefits, but you always keep your Calibrate record, your CPD history and your account.
IPP exams are sat on Activate. The Award (APME) exam is £45 and the Foundation (FCPM) exam is £95, half price for verified students and military. Resits are paid the same way.
The exam is available to you immediately after payment, and you confirm that at checkout. If you change your mind within 14 days and have not started the exam, email hello@ipp.pro for a full refund. Once you have taken the exam, the fee has been used.
Activate at activate.modulesix.io is where the structured learning lives: qualification pathways gated by membership tier, with lessons, practice questions, module checkpoints, mock exams and the real thing. Student membership opens the first module of any pathway; Candidate and above opens the full Award pathway.
Passing an IPP exam does two things beyond the certificate: it can unlock the next tier of membership to apply for, and it pre-seeds your Calibrate competency profile with starting-point levels.
Educate at educate.modulesix.io is the open course platform: one subscription, every course in the catalogue, no membership required. One course is permanently free and every other course gives its first lesson free.
Members from Candidate up pay half price on Educate, and verified students and military get half price on any tier. Course completions can be logged as CPD in your Calibrate record. Educate has its own help page covering subscriptions, assessments and certificates in detail.
Calibrate at calibrate.modulesix.io is your competency record: self-assessment against the IPP framework of eight areas and 44 elements, reviewer validation, CPD logging and an evidence portfolio.
It is free for every individual, permanently, and the record belongs to you. It travels with you between employers, persists between jobs at no cost, and never lapses, whatever happens to your membership.
Assessed members appear in the public member directory with a verified listing. Certificates and qualifications can be checked by anyone on the verify page using the reference on the certificate.
Your IPP Passport is a shareable, read-only view of your record: qualifications, competency levels by verification tier, CPD and membership standing. It is issued at account creation and never changes, so a link you share stays valid across every employer change.
What we hold and why is set out in the privacy policy. Consents you give at checkout, such as the immediate-access confirmations, are recorded with your payment.
For a copy of your data, a correction or a deletion request, email hello@ipp.pro and we will acknowledge and act on it within the legal deadlines.
Receipts and invoices come from Stripe, our payment provider, to the email on your account at the time of payment.
